Life Update

Happy 2018! I know I haven’t been blogging much, but I want to get back into it and share my passion for beauty with you all again. Thanks for those who have stuck by me since the beginning! I appreciate you all so much. So I wanted to begin this new year with a life update post… because well this year seems like it’s going to be one of the most life changing events of our lives (and no Tinh and I are not engaged, yet, hehe). This is going to be a somewhat lengthy post, so be prepared!

If you’re new to my blog, then I guess I should introduce myself! My name is Monair. I’m a 23 year old living in sunny Southern California. My main passion lies in makeup, I love creating looks and sharing my art with all of you out there! I’m also assuming you’re following me because of beauty, right? Haha. However, I love fashion and travelling as well. I can’t wait to document our trips again! I just finished reading my old posts and it made me miss making blog posts about our adventures so much (also, how crazy is it that I started this blog in 2014 and now 4 years later, we’re here!?). I’m also currently a full time student at Cal State Fullerton majoring in business administration with a concentration in risk management and insurance. AND I’LL FINALLY BE GRADUATING IN THE FALL OF THIS YEAR! I’m so stoked to be done with school.

Alright. Enough rambling. You guys, I have no idea where to start because this new year barely started and a lot of things are happening… somethings that I did not expect. I keep a lot of my private life to myself and I, but this just so happened to be a huge surprise to us that I had to share with you guys especially now it changes my content (mainly filming).

So, it turns out that Tinh and I will be homeowners sooner than we thought. The great thing about this is that the home we will be “owning” will be the house that we are currently living in. The major change? My parents are moving out, which means no parents which equals paying rent, utilities, and groceries. We will have to give up a few things to get this done, but hey – priorities, right? I think this will be a great experience for us, especially because this is the first time we’re both living on our own. We’re not too sure how fast this is moving along, it could be really soon or a few months, it all depends on if my parents can get the house they want.

So what does this mean filming wise? Well, if you know me, you know that I really don’t like filming with a backdrop. I love watching videos that have a homey (hah, not a word, I know) personal vibe to them, and I feel like backdrops take that away. Since we get to move into the master bedroom now, this means more filming space and also we won’t be disturbed when we film. I’m hoping this allows me to break out of my shell in my videos now that I don’t have to worry about anyone walking into the room while I’m filming a tutorial or favorites video.

But this also means that my focus will be on school and working my two jobs that I currently have. Videos won’t be up everyday but I’m hoping at least once a week. I also wanted to get back into blogging so that I can share my favorites, reviews, and first impressions for the times that I’m not able to film! Sadly, my YouTube account has been demonetized because I didn’t meet their new guidelines, however this isn’t going to stop me from making videos!

That’s about it for major news. Chatty updates will be posted a lot more this coming year especially with the new spring semester starting. I’m really excited to see what this year holds of me!

Have you guys made any new year resolutions? Let me know down below!
